Brutalist architecture in British Columbia, Canada

Simon Fraser University, Burnaby

A fine example of biophilic design in architecture

The Simon Fraser University’s main campus is located 20 kilometres from downtown Vancouver. The Burnaby Mountain campus is a true masterpiece of contemporary Brutalist architecture. During a family holiday in Canada, I was eager to pay a visit and wandered around with my camera for a few hours.

Also, the campus integrates nature and concrete in a perfect harmony. Situated on a green hill, views are not only astonishing, the presence of greenery and water is soothing.
